Position Overview

The position of Customer Sales Director (CSD) – Services requires a sound sales background with proven skills in all facets of sales. Communication skills must be developed to a high level where the CSD can effectively communicate with people at all levels within the client base and within SkillSoft. A background or qualification in any or all of the following would greatly assist the CSD to achieve success: Education, Human Resources, Consulting Services and Information Technology.

Position Responsibilities

Sales

·         Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.

·         Manage all aspects of the sales cycle to secure client orders for Skillsoft’s Solution Services.

·         Canvassing and cold calls (Executive call, Line manager presentations, Product demonstrations, Needs analysis, Discussion papers and proposals, Negotiation and close)

·         Develop and plan marketing activities and campaigns with management.

·         Maintain sufficient activity levels to achieve business targets.

·         Performance Measurement: Attainment and/or over achievement against defined business targets.

·         Experience: 10+ Years

Supporting Activities

Business Management

Report monthly business forecast on a 30/60/90 day basis.

Achieve consistent accuracy of 80+% on business forecast within 30 days.

Achieve 60+% accuracy on business forecast within 60 - 90 days.

Industry and Project Knowledge

Stay abreast of all facets of eLearning methodologies and future directions.

Maintain a good understanding of the current services (custom content, solution services & Dialogue) offering in order to relate benefits to clients/prospective clients.

Stay abreast via the media and industry presentations of e-learning and training issues, key business issues, client specific issues and any other information that would assist in achieving success

Maintenance of Accounts

Work with other Customer Sales Directors to ensure Account Plans are completed for each and every customer and for those key prospects where opportunities (may) exist for Services.

Work with CSD’s to conduct strategic plans for major accounts.

Manage services contracts to ensure usage is maintained and exceeded beyond ‘straight line’.

Manage physical and human resources to ensure customers expectations are met.

Performance Measurement: Attainment and/or over achievement against defined business targets.

General Activities

Administration

Maintain updated records of client communication through Outlook and CRM.

Have sufficient knowledge of PC applications to produce all client documentation, maintain database records and prepare presentations.

Company Image/Profile

Maintain an image in dress, behaviour and all communications that projects a high level of professionalism consistent with SkillSoft’s desired corporate image.

Communication

Effectively communicate with staff by developing good team work and with clients through: effective discussions, meetings, telephone calls and written communications.

Reporting

Report regularly and accurately to colleagues and management as required.

Report to management on business forecast and business achieved on a monthly basis.

Report to management on activity levels on a monthly basis.

Formally present Business Objectives and Review of forecast and pipeline to Management quarterly.
