Union Square Hospitality Group is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to join the team!

 

Key Responsibilities:

Business Intelligence Analysis (60%)

  • Support the Finance and Accounting Teams from an analytical and financial perspective by providing regular and ad-hoc analysis and recommendations. Turn analysis into insights and effectively communicate the findings and recommendations to key stakeholders.
  • Serve as a key member of teams working on executing core company initiatives including ad hoc analysis of sales driving initiatives, cost efficiencies, and new market/product development.
  • Create key metrics reports leveraging data available within Ultipro including, but not limited to turnover analyses, compensation-to-performance, labor wage increase sensitivities, etc.
  • Support Unit Operators by analyzing and planning for menu innovation, menu mix sales, hourly sales, sales by day-part, etc.

Reporting (25%)

  • Compile and prepare key performance indicators (KPIs) on a weekly and monthly basis including but not limited to Weekly Sales Report, Member Dashboard, Internal Comp and Restaurant Snapshot.
  • Assist in creation and organization of MD&A portion of quarterly Board of Director package.

Other Duties & Ad-Hoc Projects (15%)

  • Design and conduct market, company and demographic research, perform competitive benchmarking, identify market trends, analyze customer segmentation, and assess market position.
  • Perform corporate-level accounting functions as needed.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Accounting and financial knowledge
  • High-level of comfort working with financial and business performance systems
  • Ability to see the big picture while paying attention to the smallest details
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to accumulate, organize and assimilate large amounts of data from multiple data sources and the ability to turn data into insights
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to communicate with multiple levels of the organization
  • Team-oriented with ability to work on multiple projects and with multiple teams
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects
  • Curiosity and drive
  • Excellent communication skills Ability to work with different types of people and management styles
  • Strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, sales tax, payroll, and banking knowledge

Experience:

  • 2-3 years Finance and/or Accounting Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics required
  • Proven modeling ability
  • Restaurant industry experience and/or interest in hospitality a plus
