Position Overview

The International Accounting Supervisor, who will report to the Senior Manager Global Accounting, will be responsible for monthly financial statements for Skillsoft’s International Entities and subsidiaries as well as other accounting duties as assigned. This role will also be responsible for supervising a staff of 2 and work with a team that is geographically dispersed. The successful candidate will have an acute attention to detail, and ability to research and analyze issues to the point of resolution.  The ability to work on individual projects and team projects is essential.

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of the company trial balance.
  • Ensure company compliance with US GAAP and local GAAP.
  • Coordinate with staff to meet corporate timelines, guidelines and procedures.
  • Perform monthly review of account reconciliations completed in compliance with SOX requirements to ensure that all non-reconciled items over 1 month is resolved or will be resolved
  • Asset Management – Responsible for reviewing all aspects of fixed assets to ensure all capital expenditures are recorded correctly in accordance with GAAP. This includes reviewing and signing all invoices that are vouchered to fixed assets by AP to ensure our policies and procedures are correctly followed.
  • Review Month over Month and Quarterly variances during close process on all Balance Sheet and P&L accounts for all International business units prior to submission to Manager.
  • Assist the Senior Manager of Global Accounting with Statutory audits and filings in a multi-currency environment on an annual basis.
  • Approve VAT filings prior to submission to local office.
  • Assist with quarterly/yearly audits – Sarbanes Oxley compliance.
  • Approve standard journals to the General Ledger.
  • Assist with the preparation of cash forecast and cash flow statements for review by the Senior Manager of Global Accounting, and Treasury Manager
  • Work with the Treasury and Tax department to book GL entries with appropriate management of backup.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, coaching and technical expertise to staff in the execution and performance of their daily job duties and responsibilities.
  • Communicate any open issues that need escalation as well as any team issues to the Senior Manager of Global Accounting.
  • Keep teams up to date on information that will impact their daily job duties and responsibilities.
  • Create and utilize automated tools for the updating, analyzing and reporting of all international financial results.
  • Recommend improvement of processes through automation.
  • Document policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Certifications

  • BS in Finance/Accounting with 5-10 years of experience
