Job Description

 

Position Overview:

The VP of Platform Strategic Initiatives will work closely with Sales, Marketing and Technology leaders on directing client engagements, sales execution, go-to market strategy and providing strategic and consultative support to our clients. The GM will be fully capable of presenting to senior management teams, key customers and be able to drive the organization to decisions around critical issues, simultaneously managing multiple engagements with a variety of staff and clients.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversees market analysis, monitors competitive activity, and identifies customer needs.
  • Provides leadership in the planning, designing, due diligence, and implementing of strategic sales objectives.
  • Defines vision, strategies, and tactics for market penetration in platform.
  • Creates, facilitates and leads GTM sales play execution for field enablement and immersion.
  • Develops social networking presence and commentary for point of view positioning of the SumTotal platform.
  • Works with Product Management to provide input and help shape strategic roadmap
  • Works with Product Marketing to help design and create consistent, reusable outward communications including analyst communications
  • Represents to the market the key strategies and development efforts created by our CTO organization
  • Interprets Market trends, investment areas, key market drivers that lead to investment in HCM, Talent and Learning budget creation. Coordinates with Product leadership and CTO on solution Roadmap, prioritization on behalf of customers.
  • Defines objectives to gain market share and maximize profitability, and executes plans to make those objectives achievable.
  • Works with leaders in the sales, technology, project management and operations to ensure strategic business plans are successfully executed in the workplace.
  • Strategy execution includes identifying and developing the necessary processes to link the strategic objectives portfolio to the project management office, thereby enabling an effectively coordinated implementation.
  • Analyzes business metrics collected at the sales, financial and project levels to verify objectives are progressing as planned, and to direct additional actions to be taken when problems or risks are identified.
  • Develops, leads and executes strategic initiatives and client engagements with minimal oversight.
  • Attends Client Governance meetings acting in an Executive advisory role in the adoption of best practices and process reengineering leading to cross sell and maximized wallet share across solutions, support and services.

 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • A graduate-level educational background is preferred.
  • Deep industry expertise in the Human Capital Management, Talent, and Learning Management disciplines.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience working in strategic or sales leadership role, with a proven background successfully leading teams in strategy planning and development.
  • Exceptional communication skills and must be comfortable giving presentations to all levels of a corporation, from the board to hands-on employees.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to develop and evaluate business and financial projections
  • Demonstrable project management experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage 4-6 simultaneous engagements within the group.
