Skillsoft is currently seeking a Business Applications Developer to join our Nashua based Business Application Team.
The successful candidate will work closely with other development team members, QA engineers, as well as members of other Skillsoft departments to develop, maintain, and deploy applications using the Salesforce.com platform.
The work will involve new features, enhancements, and remediation of business applications in support of various internal business departments including Sales, Marketing, and Support.
The candidate must have strong communication and organizational skills to work with business users and managers to determine requirements and apply business process and knowledge to user requests.
Design, develop, test, document, and deploy high quality business solutions on the Salesforce platform in coordination and collaboration with the Salesforce System Administrators, as required
Work with the Business Applications team and business resources to define the scope and business requirements of development efforts
Responsible for development of customizations of standard and custom objects using the Force.com and Lightning platform, including interfacing with third party solutions
Responsible for Salesforce scripting using Apex, including development of SOAP and REST interfaces
Participate in cross-functional teams that address strategic business issues involving CRM and other related systems
Assist Business Analysts by identifying required tasks, timelines, dependencies, critical path items, resource requirements, etc. to complete a project
Effectively communicate task and project status and escalate to management as necessary
Proactively manage assigned issues and risks and develop remediation plans
Provide timely status reports and keep accurate project time data
Desired Skills and Experience
2+ years’ experience in IT developing large-scale, Enterprise Tier-1 ERP or CRM applications
Demonstrated cloud development experience in a multi-tenant environment using an IDE such as eclipse.
Direct experience with Force.com/Lightning development experience, with a focus on Apex and Visualforce development is a strong plus
Strong relational database skills such as MySQL/SQL Server/Oracle or PostgreSQL
In-depth experience with jQuery and/or ExtJS a plus
Experience with enterprise integration and extract, transformation, and load (ETL) tools
Integration experience using web services (SOAP, Restful, etc.) desired
Experience with other CRM software (Siebel, MS Dynamics, Oracle, etc.) a plus
A thorough understanding of Project Life Cycle management methodologies and controls
