Position Overview

Skillsoft is currently seeking a Solutions Consultant, ideally located in the Western region of the US,  to join our NA/LATAM Channel Sales team. The successful candidate will be responsible, under the direction of the Manager, Solution Consulting, for client relationship management, sales support and ongoing communication for Skillsoft prospective and existing partners, as well as select direct accounts. The Solutions Consultant is dedicated to a specialized role of presale, solution development consulting and post-sales support. A vital part of the Skillsoft Channels team, the Solutions Consultant contributes to the achievement of revenue goals as a support resource during presale cycles to both prospective new and existing partners. The Solutions Consultant also provides ongoing account and program management for Skillsoft Channel Partners, and lends business development expertise during sales cycles.

Position Responsibilities

Serve as an integral part of the presales effort to identify and craft the right product mix for partner target markets, and offer suggestions/best practice advice to adjust the offering as needed and based on revenue production

Display superior skills when demonstrating features of the Skillsoft product line and presenting the business fit and value proposition with the customer’s business requirements

Achieve the planning and deployment of the Skillsoft product suites with the partner’s technical environment, including the ability to navigate complex business situations and articulate solutions

Leverage the technical knowledge of the Application Engineering group to provide technical analysis and integration requirements

As a vital part of the team, will contribute to the growth and evolution of the Skillsoft Partner Program through initiatives and special projects as deemed necessary by the Solution Consultant and assigned/approved by the Manager

As a strategic resource and specialist in the area of driving business and revenue, and as a trusted advisor to partners, the Solution Consultant will:

Work with partners to analyze their customer markets

Consult on the development of elements of a successful Skillsoft reseller program

Provide sound advice on best practices for creating a successful go-to-market strategy that includes elements of pricing, marketing, and implementation and ongoing support to their customer base

Leverage Skillsoft processes and tools, adapting those as needed for the partner market, and become an expert trainer on those processes and tools to our partners

Interface with various departments at Skillsoft including but not limited to: Channel sales, Customer Support, PSG, Application Engineering, OrderAdmin and fulfillment, Product Marketing, Corporate Marketing, Custom, Engineering, contracts and finance in order to achieve these goals

A minimum of five years’ experience in business or Information Technology (IT), specializing in consulting, project management, and account management

Ability to navigate complex business situations and employ strategic thinking to understand the partner business and craft the Skillsoft solution to best fit their needs

Ability to manage internal and external resources to both business and technical goals

Solid grasp of Skillsoft processes in order to become a trainer of the process to our partners

Strong grasp of Skillsoft value proposition and key features/benefits for its products and platform, and demo Skillsoft products and platform

Outstanding interpersonal skills, including relationship-building and conflict resolution

Superior consulting, listening and communication skills

Refined virtual presentation skills and ability to speak publicly

Resourceful, self-directed and motivated

Ability to be consistently precise, thorough and detail oriented yet cognizant of the end goal

Education and Certifications

Bachelor’s Degree in business, education or related field; or equivalent experience
