Job Description

 

Union Square Events is seeking a Production Sous Chef to join the team!

 

The Production Sous Chef for Union Square Events is responsible for daily preparation and service of the culinary operation for the headquarters of one of our corporate clients. This role will be responsible for managerial support, preparing food, organizing stations, venue cleanliness, food safety best practices and coaching a team of employees to assist with each meal period. The Production Sous Chef will embody and teach our Family Values while ensuring operational excellence and superior client relations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee production of food for our corporate client
  • Manage the team of B&I Cooks
  • Collaborate with the entire USE BOH management team to incorporate our corporate client's production into all kitchen operations
  • Assist Lead B&I Sous Chef with quantification and ordering, as well as team scheduling
  • Assist with recording ingredients and allergens
  • Attend weekly BEO meetings
  • Occasional on-site coverage at the corporate client's headquarters
  • Collaborate with team to write monthly menus





Skills/Requirements
  • 2 years of Catering or B&I culinary experience
  • Basic Computer Skills ( Microsoft Office, CaterXpert preferred)
  • Working knowledge of many styles of cuisine
  • Superior client and guest relationship building skills
  • Ability to lead employees and a willingness to get your hands dirty

Certifications

  • CPR/1st Aid Certified (preferred)
  • NYC Food Handler’s Certificate
