Job Description

 

Union Square Hospitality Group is seeking a Payroll Associate to join the team!

 

The Payroll Associate is an integral member of the payroll department.  This individual is responsible for partnering with the Sr. Payroll Manager to ensure adherence of multi-state tax laws and to ensure accurate and timely payment to all employees.  This Associate regularly uses discretion and independent judgement when resolving discrepancies and service requests, and independent projects. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong attention to detail.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process weekly employee payroll for 2500 + employees 
  • Perform payroll-related functions including, but not limited to processing and managing tax adjustments, wage garnishments, bonus payments, etc.
  • Work with the Accounting team(s) to manage and ensure accuracy of the payroll database by ensuring accuracy of location, unit, and job coding to the General Ledger.
  • Provide assistance and support for all 2500+ employees to answer payroll related questions 
  • Assist with implementation of company-wide payroll initiatives and provide ongoing support as needed. 
  • Complete ad hoc projects including, but not limited to, general filing, payroll reports, etc.
  • Work on independent Projects as Assigned 

 





Skills/Requirements
  • 1 to 2 years of related payroll experience
  • Strong Computer Skills (Excel, Word)
  • Familiarity with Ultimate Software system a plus
  • Familiarity with Caterxpert system a plus
  • MAS 200 knowledge a plus
  • HRIS knowledge and report writing a plus
  • Analytical thinking
  • Integrity

 

Education/Certifications

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting/Finance or a related field from accredited university preferred by not required
