Job Description

Position Overview:

Analyzes, designs and draws insights from internal and external data points to support product and services decision making and strategic direction. Provides scalable systems and processes for collecting, consolidating, analyzing and communicating customer insight data and identify areas for improvement.  Acts as the centralized point-of-contact for data-trending analysis, team-impact measurement and reporting across larger Enablement, Customer Insight & Field Marketing Team.  Coordinates & tracks Customer Insight Interview Program. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Owns the delivery of data dashboards, reports across larger team, making recommendations on how to interpret and communicate insights
  • Partners with internal Data Warehouse and CRM teams through creating tickets, gathering requirements, tracking reports/data universe, conducting QA to enable a more connected dataset for analyses
  • Helps prepare dashboards & trends with Customer Insights Senior Manager to produce insights to drive more revenue
  • Liaises with cross-functional teams to ensure that sales processes produce the ‘best-possible’ data
  • Synthesizes information from multiple sources in order to create impactful insights
  • Identifies and resolves data quality issues all while investigating data necessary to achieve desired business outcomes
  • Tracks Customer Insight Interviews and adds pertinent data/follow-ups to CRM for later trending and analysis
  • Develops a thorough understanding of the customer data available to maximize the benefit of customer insight over simple product reporting
  • Recommends and implements appropriate data modeling solutions to meet business requirements
  • Establishes a robust reporting methodology to support business changing requirements with the data and tools available, recommending new systems when needed
  • Maintains a good knowledge of relevant analytical and statistical techniques
  • Maintains a good technical knowledge of all analytical and modelling software platforms
  • Possesses an excellent understanding of Skillsoft and SumTotal content, technology and messaging


  • Minimum of 3-5 years customer data analysis and data modelling experience; 5-7 years of post-collegiate work experience
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel, Access and other Microsoft productivity tools like Office (Word, PPT) and SharePoint
  • Highly numerate individual who exhibits strong business acumen and is adept at communicating complex information to all levels of the organization
  • Thorough understanding of range of data manipulation and analysis techniques
  • Expertise in data-interpretation with technical skills in R, SQL or equivalent
  • Familiarity with data mining and statistical techniques including linear and logistical regression, CHAID, clustering, etc.
  • Has self-directed work habits, exhibiting strong initiative, drive, creativity, maturity, self-assurance
  • Possesses an understanding of the human capital space (especially as it relates to learning and talent fields).
  • Exhibits exceptional teamwork, cross-team collaboration and internal customer support 
  • Demonstrates positive attitude and professionalism, an ambassador for the Skillsoft & SumTotal brands
  • Possesses solid presentation skills, both virtual and live, in large and small group settings
  • Has excellent written communication skills, demonstrates the ability to write with purpose and accuracy
  • Maintains a high level of project management and organizational skills
  • Is adept at critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills that balance thoughtful analysis with timely responsiveness
  • Is adaptable to change as it relates to sales plan, Skillsoft and/or SumTotal product strategy, internal/external relationships and organizational direction
  • Shows scheduling flexibility to effectively adapt to geographies that Skillsoft and SumTotal supports
  • Meets weekly with direct manager in order to review pending priorities, reflect on recent accomplishments and how to overcome challenges



Bachelor’s Degree in technical field; or equivalent degree
