Job Description



Union Square Hospitality Group is looking for a Staff Accountant to join the team!
 
 
 

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Preparing daily flash sales report and journals.
  • Responsible for Cash on Hand.
  • Preparing daily cash deposits and reconciling to sales journal
  • Resetting cash drawers daily
  • Reconciling petty cash receipts.
  • Responsible for Weekly Payroll
  • Coordinating new hire payroll information
  • Preparation of weekly payroll download for processing
  • Reconciling tips weekly and verifying for accuracy
  • Responsible for Accounts Payable
  • Entering invoices in accounting software
  • Selecting invoices for payment weekly
  • Reconciling month-end vendor statements
  • Following up on outstanding invoices
  • Maintaining the filing system to ensure AP files are organized and complete

 





Skills/Requirements

  • 2-4 years of Accounting, Finance or related experience (restaurant or related industry is preferred)
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance from accredited university. 
  • An ability to lead by example
  • Makes and fulfill schedule commitments & job responsibilities
  • Ownership for both achievements and mistakes
  • Dependability and willing when there is a job to do
  • An appropriate sense of urgency to get the job done
  • Discretion
  • Excellent Verbal & Written Communication
     

The Ideal Candidate will have experience in:

  • Accounting
  • Bookkeeping
  • Strong Computer Skills (Excel, Word, PP)
  • MAS 200 knowledge a plus
  • Ultimate Software system is a plus
