Job Description


Union Square Hospitality Group is seeking a Sales and Event Manager to join our growing team at Union Square Events!

 

The Sales and Event Manager is responsible for the sale and execution of full-service off-premises catered events. This manager will drive new event sales and foster positive client relationships to earn repeat business, in accordance with Union Square Hospitality Group’s Enlightened Hospitality standards.  The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a variety of event venues, managing a diverse portfolio of corporate, not-for-profit and social markets. The ability to interact with colleagues and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient is crucial to this role. The ideal candidate exudes a high level of professionalism, sales technique proficiency, and hospitality. 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Ability

  • 3+ years of experience managing off-premises catered events, preferably in greater NYC area
  • Strong understanding of event planning, logistics, service and execution
  • Proven track record for building and maintaining client relationships
  • Ability to fluently discuss cuisine and beverage options with clients
  • Capable of embodying and teaching USHG’s Family Values (Excellence, Hospitality, Integrity and Entrepreneurial Spirit)
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite, CaterXpert experience a plus
