Job Description

Union Square Hospitality Group is seeking a People Operations Manager to join our management team at Union Square Events!


With guidance from the People & Culture Department and Business Leadership, the People Operations Manager of Union Square Events will establish and implement systems to ensure employees are set up for success at all points in the employee life cycle.  This Manager is the first line of communication and administrative support for all People & Culture initiatives, HR compliance, and communication.  The People Operations Manager will embody, inspire and teach our Family Values while simultaneously ensuring team members are connected to available resources that will support and enhance their experience as an employee of Union Square Hospitality Group. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the business level compliance and adherence to all federal, state and local HR and employment laws while serving as the business level expert of all USHG People and Culture systems and best practices. 
  • Effectively manage the employee introduction to USE policies, systems and procedures related to the employment experience.
  • Partner with USE Payroll Team to ensure all necessary changes to jobs are completed accurately and are up to date, allowing the payroll process to be completed seamlessly.
  • Partner with the P&C Team and Business leaders to strategically anticipate staffing needs & effectively recruit, select, hire and onboard employees.
  • Continue to support employees through all stages of employment by serving as the on-site contact for benefit administration, professional development, policy interpretation and compliance, annual survey facilitation, employee relations, and general communication of USHG programs and events.

 





Skills/Requirements
  • At least one year of management experience in the related field of HR
  • Previous experience in hospitality/service focused industry preferred
  • Knowledge of  human resources best practices and NYC employment law
  • Ability to embody, lead, and teach our Family Values
  • Ability to exercise discretion with confidential and personal information
  • Ability to problem solve and multi-task effectively with an outstanding attention to detail
  • Excellent Understanding of Excel, Word, Outlook etc.
