We are seeking a talented and innovative Senior Manager to join our growing research unit in Hyderabad, India. You will be passionate about market research with significant experience in understanding and articulating competitor behaviour. You will be Skillsoft’s champion of all competitor and market intelligence across the business.

You will be responsible for managing and growing a team of researchers and knowledge mangers delivering best in class competitor research. Your work will feed strategic decision making for the Executive in resource allocation and support product managers and sales leaders. Building on existing infrastructure you will transform the unit from good to great.

Reporting into the SNR Director of Business Intelligence in Boston, USA you will have experienced working with colleagues across different time zones and cultures. Further, you will have had experience of working with multiple stakeholders and will be confident in managing multiple priorities.

In this role you will responsible for:

·         Defining and executing best in class competitor intelligence and market knowledge for Skillsoft’s executive team and product and sales leadership

·         Delivering proactive, thought provoking and timely intelligence to support smart decision marking through the application of data and analysis on our competitors

·         Manage and enhance our competitor intelligence database

·         Analysis of competitor product strengths and weaknesses to compare against Skillsoft’s product set

·         Coach and grow a team of enthusiastic and determined staff

We are looking for the following qualities

·         A strong academic record deployed in market leading global digital businesses. Alternatively, we would actively encourage applications from candidates with experience of strategy consulting. Five years of management experience with the desire to take the next step in your career a must

·         Hands on manager, able to both manage and deliver their own work to a very high standard

·         With a strategic mind-set, you will be able to assess existing processes and resource and build upon this in a structured and logical manner

·         Excellent analytical skills with the ability to frame findings in a logical and thought provoking manner

·         Able to build enduring relationships across multiple stakeholders and geographies

·         A thorough understanding of Knowledge Management principles and deployment in a research environment (you will not be expected to have delivered knowledge management practice but will be expected to champion best practice in the organisation)

You will have the following experience

·         Significant experience of competitor intelligence research and analysis

·         Strong understanding of the digital landscape

·         Degree and or post graduate degree in statistics, business or marketing discipline

·         Proven experience in coaching and developing staff

·         Demonstrable change agent, driving product and sales into new directions and opportunities

·         Recognised communication skillset, verbally and through report writing

·         An understanding of data science and it’s application in the modern enterprise essential. Experience of coding statistical programmes a bonus (e.g. Python or R,)

·         Analytical and data driven roles in leading global enterprises or strategy consulting businesses

·         A working knowledge of Sales Force (or similar CRM application)
