Job Description

 

Union Square Hospitality Group is seeking a Multi-unit Restaurant Assistant Controller to join the team!


The Multi-unit Assistant Controller will be responsible for assisting with the coordination and execution of a variety of Accounting functions for multiple businesses within our organization. The ideal candidate will be collaborative, results-oriented, detail-oriented, and self-motivated all while maintaining integrity and a curious intelligence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare month-end close and financial statements (25%)
  • Reconcile Balance Sheet monthly (25%)
  • Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns accurately and timely (20%)
  • Prepare year-end close and assist with annual review with CPA firm (10%)
  • Establish and maintain internal controls (5%)
  • Participate in special projects and compile related reports (5%)
  • Work with private, local and governmental representatives on audits, including but not limited to: sales tax, worker’s comp, and percentage rent audits. (5%)
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with Controller, Corporate Accounting Department and Executive Team at your restaurant (5%)

  • Strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, sales tax, payroll, and banking knowledge
 

Experience

  • 5-7 years Accounting experience
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • CPA certification preferred
  • Restaurant industry experience a plus

 

Language

  • English with Spanish fluency a plus
