We are seeking a talented


Executive Chef of B&I Accounts


to join the Culinary team of Union Square Events!

 

The Executive Chef of B&I Accounts for Union Square Events (USE) is responsible for all culinary operations within the corporate headquarters of two clients. In this position, the Chef will develop uniquely creative, seasonal, health-minded menus that change daily.  The focus on creativity and culinary excellence, the ability to anticipate accurate food and labor costs, and the leadership to effectively engage with our employees and our clients are essential for success in this role.

The Executive Chef is responsibile for building and sustaining a high performing team through the embodiment and teaching of our Family Values.  The Executive Chef is expected to be able to deliver excellent products and superior service that ensures we reach our financial targets while nurturing, maintaining and growing our partnerships with these clients.

This position requires regular local travel from our Commissary Kitchen in West Chelsea to our client's headquarters in West Chelsea and Mid-town Manhattan. The role has early morning hours and occassional evenings with a typical weekly schedule from Monday - Friday.

 

  





Skills/Requirements

3+ years as an Executive Chef developing and executing menus for mass production

5+ years of experience in catering management or B&I environments

Excellent working knowledge of many styles of cuisine and types of events

Proficient creative menu development skills with a focus on breakfast and lunch options in a B&I environment

Strong Computer Skills ( Microsoft Office, CaterXpert preferred)

Proficient understanding of recipe costing and conversions for production

Ability to actively embody and teach our Family Values - excellence, hospitality, entreprenuerial spirit, and integrity

Ability to engage with various employees, leaders, and clients with effective communication skills

English fluency and some Spanish preferred

Certifications:

CPR/1st Aid Certified

NYC Food Handler’s Certificate
