About the Role:

The Software Engineer II will review, analyze, design, implement, and modify aspects of approved applications.  The developer will write code, complete documentation and unit test systems and applications. The developer will assist in converting project specifications and procedures to detailed logical flow charts for coding into appropriate language.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Strong understanding of Internet and Intranet architecture
  • Exposure to design/implementation of application using N-Tier architecture
  • Exposure to software development and OOPS concepts
  • Experience in Web Application Development to enhance applications/products using a variety of languages, tools and techniques using C#, PHP/ASP/JSP, ASP.NET, XML
  • Experience on C#/.NET based library development is a must
  • Experience in database programming and building web applications with database connectivity
  • Exposure to SQL Server 2014/2012 or Oracle 11g
  • Having experience in performance tuning is added advantage
  • Industry-related knowledge of browser client development:
  • HTML, HTML5, CSS3, AngularJS, JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery, Sencha Ext JS, Telerik
  • Understanding of browser compatibility issues and platform characteristics
  • Responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of SumTotal Talent Development products suite
  • Ability to debug and work with unfamiliar code to fix root cause of problems that might be reported
  • Applied knowledge of agile, iterative, and waterfall web development process, as well as demonstrated abilities to write and follow technical briefs, technical requirements, data schemas, and data descriptions from functional specifications and business requirements
  • Ability to contribute individually and work well with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work well with a team, work optimally under scheduled deadlines, and have passion for delivering high quality output
  • Work effectively with other departments as and when required
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills

 

Skills & Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 1-4 years of professional software development experience developing applications with HTML, JavaScript, ASP.NET, and C#.
  • Experience using SQL Server 2014/2012.
  • Software Development experience in both web applications and iOS, Windows and/or UNIX/Linux operating systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Domain experience in the Human Capital Management (HCM).
  • Experience working in Agile development teams using SCRUM.
  • Strong knowledge of source code management in a collaborative environment, subversion experience.
