Position Overview
Skillsoft is currently seeking a RFP/Proposal Business Writer. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, developing, and executing written communications for RFPs, proposals and other collateral to create awareness and drive demand for Skillsoft products and services. Strong communication and writing skills are essential. This role will report directly to the Manger of Sales Operations and will have direct interaction with sales representatives, sales management, and executive management.
Position Responsibilities
Manage request from the Global Sales Organization on RFP, RFI, proposal, and other similar requests from start to finish
Write and develop proposals for Global Sales Organization and update Qvidian proposal system on a regular basis
Creation of high profile RFP, RFI and similar responses for Global Sales Organization
Proactively research, collect and summarize information from numerous sources
Fully comprehend strategic direction and distill it into a concise, focused creative brief
Develop visual and verbal concepts appropriate for varied audiences, using diverse media, from print to web
Develop meticulously crafted copy that reflects creativity and copy direction from the Skillsoft Marketing team
Conduct ongoing evaluation of programs and collect feedback from Global Sales Organization to optimize programs over time
Ad hoc writing/editing on an as needed basis
On-going maintenance and updates to Qvidian RFP database
Desired Skills and Experience
Minimum 2-4 years of experience in sales, sales operations, marketing communications or corporate marketing; Experience in enterprise software or e-learning a plus, comfort with technology subjects a must
Performs a variety of tasks
Needs to be an effective communicator that can work well with others and can lead and direct co-workers and peers
Possesses strong written and oral communication skills and is willing to thrive in a team environment
Must be able to work independently, self-directed individual
Qvidian a plus but not required
Excellent written and oral communication and project management skills
Strong proficiency in desktop and web applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Highly organized and successful in making aggressive deadline commitments and meeting them
Possess good initiative and strong follow-up skills
Able to focus on detail but understand how the work fits into the larger picture
Ability and desire to engage and interact, at a high degree of effectiveness, with multidiscipline teams
