Job Description

This position is responsible for the preparation and execution of all menu items according to recipe standards and procedures to ensure the highest level of food quality and guest satisfaction. 

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Upholds quality standards, portion control, and presentation of food.
  • Adheres to all health regulation in food preparation, storage and service.
  • Properly measures and assembles ingredients required for cooking the standard recipes.
  • Prepares all food items to order, following standard recipes and procedures within specified time limits.
  • Minimizes waste of products.
  • Sets up station according to restaurant guidelines.
  • Cleans and maintains station, practicing good safety, sanitation, and organization skills.
  • Properly operates and maintains all equipment in station, cleans immediately after use.
  • Understands and complies with food safety and temperature standards.
  • Rotates product according to “first in, first out” to maintain shelf-life.




Skills/Requirements

Education/Training:

  • High School or equivalent

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of basic kitchen equipment.
  • Knowledge of basic food handling and sanitation guidelines.
  • Ability to read, translate and execute recipes.
  • Must be willing to work a variety of day/night and weekend shifts.
  • Requires strong organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Excellent people skills.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to move throughout restaurant (standing, walking, kneeling, bending) for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to make repeating movements of the arms, hands, and wrists.
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear.
  • Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to work with hand above shoulders.
  • Ability to occasionally, regularly, frequently move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to turn or twist body parts in a circular motion.
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and loud/noisy environment.

Preferred Work Experience:

  • One year in a full service restaurant
