Job Description

The Application Developer role is responsible for developing and supporting TMS custom applications and integrating packaged solutions to meet the enterprise needs.  This role will be working on a small scrum team in concert within the overall development team, to meet the company’s objectives.  This individual will be expected to use their problem solving abilities and communication skills to work in a collaborative environment to produce high quality software solutions to meet the company’s product road map.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS*

  • Produce high quality code in conformance with company standards.
  • Communicate with both technical and line of business individuals in a professional manner.
  • Work with in a agile framework to produce predicable releases.
  • Contribute to a healthy team environment.
  • Provide production support when appropriate.

MARGINAL OR PERIPHERAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ability and willingness to multi-task in a high paced environment.
  • Ability and willingness to complete tasks by deadlines.
  • Work well with co-workers, supervisor(s), and external clients

 





Skills/Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in Java/J2EE application development.
  • Experience working with rational databases.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree or higher preferred.
  • Hibernate, JSF, AJAX or Spring experience.
  • Experience working within the Education marketplace.
  • Experience working for a Business Process Outsourcer.

COMPETENCIES/SKILLS

  • Strong attention to detail, time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Experience with problem resolution.
  • Ability to work with others.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel.
