Job Description:

Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all plant machinery, equipment, building, and grounds in support of production. Utilize 5s in the workplace, be cognizant of and use continuous improvement activities and practices, support and utilize effective root cause analysis.
 

 

Responsibilities:

·         In order to reduce machine downtimes exhibit a high level working knowledge of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, repair, and failure diagnostics.

·         Perform various welding and pipefitting work.

·         Read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams ability to use basic sketches to convey ideas.

·         Working knowledge of basic shop tools and machinery to properly use and direct the use of welders, oxy-acetylene torch, band saws, drill press, and hand tools.

·         Develop knowledge of processing equipment to the extent that the knowledge is used to train operators, write procedures, and diagnose problems.

·         Install and maintain equipment, tanks, reactors, machinery, motors, drives, conveyors, switches, bearings, and electrical systems.

·         Perform and improve PM inspections and machinery knowledge database support.

·         Meet or exceed all safety required items 5S, PPE, Fork truck training, and individual awareness training.

·         Follow prescribed 5-S policies, including insuring workplace is clean at the end of job, project, or workday.

·         Fabricate and install special equipment as needed

·         Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

·         Perform maintenance, administrative, production, or other duties as assigned.

 





Skills/Requirements

Skills Required:

·         Basic mechanical and electrical maintenance skills.

·         Welding, TIG preferred

·         Pipefitting

·         Ability to work in a group environment. 

·         Ability to adapt to changing schedules and hours. 

·         Fluent in English

 

 

Qualifications and Certifications:

•      HS degree or equivalent

•      3 plus years of maintenance experience

•      Chemical background not required, but strongly preferred

 

Physical Requirements:

•      Ability to physically pick up products for long periods of time. 

•      Ability to lift 70 pounds.

•      Successful completion of forklift training and operation

•      Normal class (d) driver’s license

•      Able to stand, walk and work upright up to 8 hours
