Job Description

The Senior Helpdesk Specialist is responsible for administering the daily activities of the First Marblehead Helpdesk function.  The candidate will work with Help Desk staff in the execution of daily and project-related responsibilities, reporting status and exceptions to senior management.  This individual monitors timeliness and completion of assigned tasks and customer satisfaction related thereto.  The position requires significant work experience with established corporate hardware and application assembly and deployments and must support requisite service levels.  The Senior Helpdesk Specialist responds to user queries, answers questions and resolves hardware and software problems in a multiple-platform environment (Windows, Linux, AIX, and AS400)  as well as creating and administering user accounts and permissions consistent with corporate standards.

Skills/Requirements

Qualifications:

  •  3-5 years of relevant work experience and/or hardware/software certification
  • Fluent with desktop applications including MS  XP products and Office 2007 applications including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook & PowerPoint
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Consistent demonstration of the highest levels of professionalism and integrity and reflecting a strong customer-service orientation
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels across the organization from staff to senior management as well as clients
  • Familiarity with desktop deployment, management and monitoring tools including Symantec Ghost and AV solutions a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or specialized technical training preferred.
