JOB SUMMARY

The Technical Support Engineer III provides technical support to field engineers, technicians, and product support staff to diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and debug complex software and system problems.  This position can be located in either our Tampa, FL or Alachua, FL offices.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Provide day-to-day support of Redhat Linux-based hosted systems.  Including patch management, provisioning new systems.
  • Assists with the deployment of product upgrades.
  • Document solutions for use by Level 1 support technicians and field engineers.
  • Provides support to customer/user inquiries or concerns regarding our products or services via incoming telephone calls and written correspondence.
  • Acts as a liaison between various support groups and development.  May provide after hours on-call production support.

 

 

 

Skills/Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience providing Level II or Level III technical support for software applications.

 

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

Medical software industry experience preferred; experience troubleshooting complex software problems, documenting software defects and communicating with software developers required. Troubleshooting networking issues and other systems issues preferred.

Strong technical troubleshooting, problem solving, and analytical ability; ability to thoroughly learn new applications quickly; strong communication, interpersonal, and customer support skills; technical knowledge of operating systems, especially Redhat Linux.

Medical Manager knowledge including:

  • Starting and stopping background server
  • Administering user accounts
  • Printer configuration
  • Editing custom menus
  • Be familiar with major workflows: posting charges, payment, daily and period close, scheduler, etc

 

Other helpful skills include: technical knowledge of Windows, ability to script in any language; basic programming concepts.  Experience working with VMware and cloud applications.  Requires a high degree of energy and flexibility in adjusting to a fast-paced environment with shifting workflows with multiple priorities.
