Job Description

Primary Responsibilities and Assignments

 

  • Make repairs on gas compressors, engines, and vehicles.
  • Troubleshoot gas compressors, engines, and vehicles.
  • Perform preventative maintenance.
  • Rebuild engines and gas compressors
  • Some retrofitting of gas compressors.
  • Help train new field technicians.
  • Repair of gas compressors and vehicle.
  • Assist service specialist on engine and compressor overhauls.
  • Adhere to call-out rotation as assigned.




Skills & Requirements

Specific Work Background/Experience

 

Required:

  • 4-7+  years experience as a field gas compressor mechanic/technician

                

Desired:

  • Any combination of education and experience which would be likely to produce the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.  Preference will be given to graduates of technical schools; high school graduates will be considered.
  • Some college helpful.

                

 

Special Requirements/Additional Comments

 

Required:

  • Mechanical and analytical, proficiency in large high speed engine set up
  • Should be self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Ability to drive a vehicle; must maintain a current and valid drivers license.
  • Writing ability sufficient for reporting
  • Some public presentation and training skills
  • Ability to prioritize, organize work and meet deadlines.
  • Light welding
  • Ability to lift, pull, push minimum of 50lbs.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend, stretch over and under pipeline equipment.
  • Ability to spend 100% of time outside in all climates and temperatures to do repairs on equipment.
