Job Description

Our Crofton, MD office seeks an experienced Engineer with an environmental consulting background to join their team.
 
Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Serves as the senior remediation and technical leader for remediation projects for retail petroleum sites (with and without terminals), pipelines, and other commercial/industrial sites
  • Handles challenging remediation projects, including in situ chemical injection projects
  • Directs remedial feasibility scope development and execution
  • Evaluates sites and determines appropriate remedial alternatives
  • Participates in management of operation and maintenance of remedial systems, including system evaluations and upgrades, more advanced troubleshooting and ensuring permit compliance
  • Prepares, manages, and reviews remediation system designs, reports, permits, specifications, work scopes and proposals
  • Manages, trains and mentors staff regarding remediation and engineering activities and standards
  • Works closely with field services departments
  • Interfaces with clients as technical lead on remediation projects
  • May manage all aspects of remediation/engineering-only projects
  • Supervises, trains and mentors junior Engineering staff
  • Assists with business development
  • Ensures all projects adhere to GES’ Health & Safety standards
Skills/Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, Chemical or, Mechanical) and 4-7+ years of environmental engineering/consulting experience
  • Must be able to obtain the Maryland Professional Engineer (P.E.) license and P.E. licenses for Delaware, Virginia and the District of Columbia via reciprocity or comity within 2 years
  • Managerial experience is required
  • Must have excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills
  • Must have a clean driving record, and be able to drive a company vehicle
  • A Background Check and an Alcohol/Drug Screening are required
