Job Description

The Web Technical Customer Support team is looking for a team lead. We’re the ones who get to teach people what it means to right click. If you often wear a t-shirt that says “No, I will not fix your computer” this might not be a good fit for you.  On the other hand, if you are passionate about teaching your 80-year old grandmother how to install flash player, enable JavaScript, and discover that the internet exists outside of AOL, then we have a great opportunity that may be right up your alley.

It may be strange, but we really do care about treating people right.  Customer service is more than just the name of a department – it’s a culture that we passionately pursue.  We treat our customers like we would want to be treated, with patience, respect and dignity.

Our aim is to super serve them.

That goes for our team members too.  Life is important, and we want you to have one (feel free to add that to the list of employee benefits)! That’s why we work 8-hour days with very seldom late nights.  We work hard and play hard (insert our Friday foam football war here).  But hey, don’t just take our word for it…our team, company-wide, recently voted The Lampo Group, Inc. one of the BEST places to work in Nashville for the second year in a row.

Skills/Requirements

Must Haves:

  • Previous experience leading a team.  Micro-managers, hall monitors and “hands-off” supervisors need not apply.
  • Great communication skills working with irate and hard-to-please individuals whose orders were eaten by their neighbor’s dog (hey - you’d be irate too!).
  • High efficiency with e-mail communication.  Must not be prone to run on paragraph sentences, smiley faces and colorful cloud backgrounds.
  • Pleasant, professional and caring phone presence.  Can you keep a smile through an entire conversation so that the person on the other side of the phone sees it?
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows.  This means you’ve done more that just turned a computer on to check email and surf YouTube.
  • Either a pitcher or quarterback in high school.  We’re getting killed in our Friday foam football wars.
  • Experience with multiple web browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, and yes, AOL)  Don’t fluff your resume, you will be tested.
  • A sense of humor.  Humorless people have been known to find their desk saran-wrapped when they arrive in the morning.

Other Desirables:

  • Experience supporting streaming media technologies
  • Flash Player
  • Windows Vista
  • Mac OS X
  • E-commerce
  • If you play drums that would be a huge plus (we’re looking for a drummer at our next Rock Band/LAN party)
  • Experience with eLearning
  • Experience with online communities (forums, chat, IM)
