Job Description

Job Summary:

The Director of Facilities oversees all aspects of running the communities.

 

Responsibilities

Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·         Budgeting

·         Maintenance

·         Purchasing

·         Planning

·         Supporting profitability and growth

·         Work with all outside vendors and contractors

·         Negotiating contracts and ensuring those entities deliver as promised

·         Manages the facility maintenance staff and other team members who deal with daily operations

·         Supervises and coordinates daily activities of Operations Division as assigned

·         Performs field and facility inspections.

·         Oversight and monitoring of progress of maintenance and repair plans

·         Coordinates and supervises special maintenance / construction projects

·         Coordinates routine activities between departments such as Capital Improvements

·         Insures proper care and maintenance of equipment and facilities

Recommends specifications for purchases

Skills + Abilities

·         Ability to execute in a multi task environment

·         Ability to lead a team

·         Ability to work with third party contractor relationships when on-site

·         Ability to plan and juggle multi task environment

·         Must possess solid knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, etc. information as required by daily operations

 

Education and Experience Required

·         Minimum of 3 years experience in facility management

·         High School Diploma required, College preferred

·         High level of proficiency in written, verbal, and mathematical skills

·         Ability to earn future designations as required by Industry standards, EPA regulations, OSHA requirements, etc.

 

Physical Demands:                                            

The work is not physically demanding. Typically, the associate may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of moderate items such as papers, boxes, event items, collateral, books, small parts; driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

Work Environment:                                             

The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, or commercial vehicles.  The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated, except when working on items outside of the office environment.
