Full-time Job Announcement

Position: Paramedicine Program Lead Instructor

Location: Athens Campus

Department: Division of Life Science & Public Safety

Reports to: Program Chair for EMS Education and Divisional Academic Dean

Salary/Benefits: Salary is commensurate with education and experience. State of Georgia benefits package.

Deadline to Apply: April 29, 2024 at 4:00 p.m.

Responsibilities:

  • Organize the Paramedicine program schedule.
  • Submit all required program documentation for each Paramedicine cohort to the State Office of EMS.
  • Set Paramedicine course objectives and ensure proper course instruction to meet those objectives.
  • Prepare lesson plans for Paramedicine lecture, lab, and simulation.
  • Organize the operation, maintenance, and repair of simulation equipment for the Paramedicine program.
  • Organize and maintain the College Blackboard LMS for each Paramedicine course including: course syllabi addendums, course assignments, course gradebook, grade submission, and other LMS management.
  • Tutor and/or mentor Paramedicine students.
  • Ensure Paramedicine labs are kept clean and safe for laboratory instruction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.




Skills/Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current Georgia licensed paramedic, PA, or Physician.
  • Current Georgia Instructor/Coordinator Paramedic (P) license.
  • Considerable knowledge or principles and techniques of educational and training methods.
  • Considerable knowledge advanced emergency medical treatment at the Paramedicine level.
  • Present experience in the instruction of Paramedicine curricula and in objectively evaluating students in an educational environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • American Heart Association (AHA), BLS, ACLS, and PALS Instructor.
  • Current experience with high-fidelity simulation (operation and maintenance).
