Full-time Job Announcement

Position: Culinary Arts Instructor

Location: Walton Campus

Department: Division of Business, Industry, & Technology

Reports to: Divisional Academic Dean

Salary/Benefits: Salary is commensurate with education and experience. State of Georgia benefits package.

Responsibilities:

  • Under general supervision, instruct students in Culinary Arts skill areas.
  • Follow state standards in developing program and course outlines, goals, and objectives.
  • Develops syllabi to meet program and school objectives.
  • Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives.
  • Requests and maintains supplies and equipment, and prepares required budget requests.
  • Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate.
  • Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports.
  • Attends staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferences.
  • Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area.
  • Respond in a timely manner to administrative requests.
  • Meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students’ instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of the students.
  • Assists with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
  • Maintain program certification requirements, as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate effective written and oral communication.
  • Contribute to the writing of accreditation and assessment reports.
  • Demonstrate general computer knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.




Skills/Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Culinary Arts or a related field from an accredited college or technical institution (years of experience may substitute for the degree on a year-to -year basis).
  • Three (3) years work experience in a position related to Culinary Arts.
  • Must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the courses assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or technical institution.
  • Five (5) years of documented work experience in a position related to Culinary Arts.
  • ServSafe Manager certification.
  • American Culinary Federation (ACF) certification.
  • Certified Executive Chef (CEC) and/or Certified Culinary Education (CCE) and/or Approved Culinary Evaluator (ACE).
  • Knowledge and experience with ACF accreditation.
  • Previous teaching experience in a post-secondary environment.
  • Previous online teaching or training experience, including the use of video capture tools.
