Recognized as the #1 Top Workplace in the D.C. region for 2023 by The Washington Post, we are seeking a compassionate Director of Social Work for our Bailey’s Crossroads location. This role is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a supportive and enriching work environment.

About the Position:

As the Director of Social Work, you will provide strategic leadership and direction to our Social Work department, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and fostering an environment that supports the emotional and social well-being of our residents. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about creating policies, practices, and goals that enhance the quality of life for our community members.

Key Duties:

  • Leadership and Compliance: Lead with integrity, ensuring all social work practices meet state and federal guidelines, and foster a departmental culture of compliance and excellence.
  • Financial and Operational Management: Oversee the department's budget, ensuring financial health and operational efficiency, while actively participating in the development and execution of strategic objectives.
  • Resident and Family Support: Provide direct social work interventions, counseling, and support groups, aiding residents and their families in navigating life’s challenges.
  • Team Development: Mentor, train, and supervise the social work team, promoting a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages professional growth and excellence.
  • Innovation and Advocacy: Develop and implement innovative social work practices and policies, advocate for resident rights, and contribute to community outreach and education efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in social work from an accredited university.
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in social work, including work with the geriatric population.
  • Proven leadership skills with at least 3 years in a supervisory role preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, computer literacy, and familiarity with electronic health records.
