We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented part-time bookkeeper to join our team. As a bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, and assisting with financial reporting. Responsibilities:
Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
Prepare and process invoices, payments, and receipts accurately and in a timely manner.
Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and other financial records to ensure accuracy.
Track and manage expenses, including reviewing receipts, categorizing expenses, and preparing expense reports.
Assist with payroll processing, including verifying timesheets, calculating wages, and ensuring accurate deductions and withholdings.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports, such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities to ensure effective financial planning.
Collaborate with other team members to ensure accurate financial data and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
Stay up-to-date with relevant accounting principles, laws, and regulations to ensure compliance.
Maintain confidentiality of financial records and sensitive information.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
Proficiency in using bookkeeping software and tools, such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar systems.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to maintain organized financial records.
Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
Solid knowledge of MS Excel or other spreadsheet software.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to team members.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
Flexibility to work part-time hours and adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Professional certification in bookkeeping or accounting (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper, Certified Public Bookkeeper).
Experience with nonprofit organizations or small businesses.
