Job Description | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
From your hands… to our patients’ hearts Rainbow Hospice and Palliative Care is happy to accept handmade fabric donations Consider making and donating any of the following: - No sew fleece blanket, lap quilt, fidget blanket, or crochet throws by using your scraps or unwanted fabrics (new and unworn), even orphan blocks (suggested sizes: 42x42 or 44x44). It doesn't have to be fancy, just something to give some comfort to someone in hospice. These beautiful handcrafted quilts are given to patients and family members as a gift, a personal touch that provides warmth and hopefully evokes a sense of security and comfort, knowing that someone has put so much love into making it! - Ornamental size fabric hearts; the key was having different types of fabric for sensory engagement. Having the option to hang them too is helpful. - Memory bears (pattern can be provided) or Memory pillows made from articles of clothes that families are looking to transform as a keepsake. Both can be made to include a pocket for holding special mementos or keepsakes. - Dementia fiddle aprons Please contact the Volunteer Department to arrange a pick up or drop off at the Rainbow Hospice and Palliative Care Mt Prospect, IL Office for more details. Because the best kind of sleep beneath Heaven above/ Is under a quilt, handmade with love
