Job Description

Athens Technical College in Athens, Georgia seeks an Adjunct Instructor to teach a lecture course and an associated laboratory course in Biology at the Elberton County Campus in Elberton, Georgia. These courses cover the basic chemistry of biological processes, cell structure, cellular respiration, photosynthesis, classical genetics, molecular genetics, scientific theory, and biotechnology overview.  Laboratory exercises in the laboratory course support lecture concepts. The successful applicant will be expected to implement course materials that support stated initiatives and use appropriate techniques to provide students with the knowledge needed to achieve the learning outcomes for each Biology course offered.

Skills/Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Biology

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Biology; two (2) years prior teaching experience at the post-secondary level and the ability to make presentations using advanced media technology, such as distance learning and online learning applications
