Position Summary:

Central Research Inc. (CRI) is seeking a full-time, Financial Analyst to support for the planning, tracking, analysis and execution of corporate and project budgets using Government and Industry best practices and standards. The Financial Analyst shall maintain responsibility for a wide variety of detailed financial and accounting activities for a government contractor, including corporate and contracts budget preparation, and preparation of cash forecasting and analysis.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Analyze cost controls, procedures, and forecasting techniques to evaluate contract status to ensure compliance with government and corporate requirements. Other duties include producing financial tracking and expense analysis reports, including spend plans and monthly status reports
• Develop and maintain annual budgets
• Prepare cash flow forecasting and analysis
• Develop budgets, analyzes project risks, and provides analytical support to senior managers
• Monitor contract progress to compare actual versus budgeted resource usage and analyze contract cost variances
• Perform cost analysis, cost estimating, and cost forecasting throughout the project lifecycle
• Review and analyzes financial reports and data for accuracy and identifies, reports, and corrects errors as required
• Provide reports to the Chief Financial Officer on pipeline, backlog, project status, and staff planning
• Provide monthly Project Cost information reports to Program Managers
• Execute other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent relevant work experience
• 5+ years of federal contracts experience
• Experience developing and presenting budget and status reporting as well as the ability to present information to senior management

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters’ degree in Accounting or Finance Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Experience in pricing strategy, competitive analysis, and bid and proposals for contracts with Federal, and State
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with using Microsoft Office applications
• Financial modelling and/or project controls experience
• Knowledge of revenue recognition methodologies
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Experienced in developing pricing for new business or contract modification requests
• Strong understanding of accounting and finance
• Self-motivated; proactive
