General Summary:

What you'll do: 

• Identifying and executing upon compliance activities, including those related to federal reporting, utilization reports, compliance notifications, confirmatory licenses, government support clauses in patent applications, and others
• Monitoring team member activity lists and following up with team members to stay ahead of upcoming docket deadlines
• Assisting in-house legal counsel with the coordination and preparation of inter-institutional agreements
• Providing support, as needed, to IP paralegals and other IP team members on both the Physical Sciences and Life Sciences teams
• Backing up other administrative team members on an as-needed basis
• Other duties as assigned

What you'll need:

• High attention to detail
• Ability to learn databases quickly and effectively and use them on a daily basis (e.g., Inteum, Wellspring, etc.)
• Ability to navigate and utilize the iEdison reporting platform effectively
• Familiarity with federal compliance responsibilities under Bayh-Dole
• Familiarity with the basic timeline and sequence of events associated with patent prosecution
• Collaborative style, combined with the ability and desire to work in a team-based environment
• Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and responsibility regarding information related to ASU Enterprise Partners, its subsidiaries and University business and confidential prospect information
• Strong and collegial interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing, and by phone
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Problem solver who can take initiative and set priorities while being flexible
• Team-oriented strategist able to manage complex situations effectively, involving numerous and sometimes competing constituencies
• Ability to represent the institution well
• An advocate’s belief in the vision of ASU as the New American University
• Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing assigned duties
• Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects
• Adept at navigating complex environments with evolving priorities and communication plans

Relevant Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess at least two (2) years of prior hands-on experience in a similar role to include education and/or training in compliance as well as a general understanding of intellectual property knowledge and processes. 

 Bachelor's degree a plus.
