Job Description

Position Summary:

The Facilities Maintenance Technician performs a wide variety of apprentice-level work in one or more of the facilities maintenance trade areas such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Perform apprentice-level work repairing and performing preventative maintenance at CRI locations
  • Ensure the interior and exterior of facilities are well maintained including washing windows, drywall repair, paint, restroom maintenance, electrical, plumbing and water service, etc.
  • Perform minor adjustments on office furniture and fixtures in CRI office locations
  • Report repair needs to the Facilities Manager
  • Ensure facility supplies (toilet tissue, paper towels etc.) are ordered and stored appropriately
  • Stock vending machines in the break rooms
  • Write routine reports and correspondence




Skills/Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Minimum 2 years’ related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Must be able to obtain and retain a 5C suitability clearance
  • Possess and maintain a valid drivers’ license
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. without assistance and up to 140 lbs. with assistance
  • Obtain required certifications as needed

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team player
  • Good decision-making skills
  • Comprehension skills needed to interpret and perform instructions; written, verbal, and or diagram format
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Must display very good organization and time management skills
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

Other Information:

Must be able to walk, stand, climb, kneel, reach, crawl, push, pull and twist much of the day

Work nonstandard hours, as needed
