Athens Technical College in Athens, Georgia seeks an Adjunct Instructor to teach evening courses in Electrical Systems Technology,  beginning spring semester. The successful applicant will have the content knowledge and teaching skills needed to help students achieve the learning outcomes for each of the Electrical Systems Technology courses. This position reports to the Electrical Systems Technology program chair.

Duties of the instructor include using discipline appropriate teaching and assessment techniques in classroom, laboratory, and online settings; maintaining student records; advising students regarding program requirements and career goals; participating in college recruitment and retention efforts; and assisting the program chair as needed.

Class Schedule: Mondays and Wednesdays: 5:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

An Associate’s Degree from a regionally accredited Public or Private institution and considerable recent experience in the electrical field (at least (3) three years within the past (7) seven); and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

An Electrical Contractor’s License from the State of Georgia; some teaching experience, preferably at the post-secondary level; knowledge of PLCs, AFDs, and electric motors; and active participation in appropriate professional and occupational organizations.
