Job Description

Position Summary:

Central Research, Inc., is actively seeking a Contract Administrator for immediate hire, to join our Alexandria, VA corporate office.

The Contract Administrator will provide contract guidance and administrative control over our prime contracts, subcontracts, task orders and consulting agreements. The position reports to the Vice President of Administration.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  •  Assist in research and preparation of contract documents; including teaming agreements, NDAs, and subcontracts
  •  Process contract and subcontract modifications and update contract summaries and briefs
  • Ensure Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) compliance for administration of contracts, including compliance with contract and FAR reporting requirements
  • Consult with and provide recommendations and documentation support to the Vice President of Administration
  • Identify potential contractual problems or conflicts, analyze impact and ramifications, and resolve issues
  • Prepare and disseminate information to internal staff regarding contract status, compliance, audits, modifications, deviation, expiration, termination and closeout activity
  • Maintain continual internal and external reviews to ensure that contract-related issues are resolved in accordance with customer requirements, contractual requirements, management direction, and the FAR
  • Prepare and maintain corporate contract files
  • Provide advice, recommendations, and document preparation support in all areas of the acquisition process; primarily focused on post-award management
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of contract briefs and summaries and contract files
  • Review contract documents, including award documents, modifications and task orders to identify and document legal and contractual requirements
  • Organizes and maintain contract files
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with government contract laws and reporting requirements, including preparation and filing of reports
  • Maintain and update comprehensive calendar of events for timely compliance with contractual requirements
  • Provide advice and recommendations for modifications including but not limited to: updates to contract terms and conditions, administrative changes, option exercise renewal notices, pricing, requirements, etc.




Skills/Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience
  •  7+ years’ experience in a contracting office for a private government contractor

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in government contracting, law, management finance or accounting
  •  Certified or working toward certification in CFCM, CPCM, or DAWIA/FAC-C
  • Knowledge of the Service Contract Act (SCA)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of the federal acquisition process and an ability to identify and apply FAR requirements as they relate to the Company’s current and future contracts and subcontracts
  •  Knowledge and experience interpreting, analyzing, and applying FAR to all aspects of the contract lifecycle
  • Ability to extract key metrics, milestones, and requirements from contract documents
  • Knowledge and experience working with various types of government contracts, including Indefinite-Delivery, Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ), Task order-type contracts, Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs), GSA Schedules, Firm-Fixed Price, and Time and Materials contracts
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office applications, including SharePoint
  • Functional knowledge of Deltek Costpoint
