Job Description

Position Summary:

Central Research is actively recruiting to fill a corporate Director of Communications position, located at our Headquarters office in Lowell, AR.  The individual will be the primary contact for creating, reviewing and approving communications distributed on behalf of Central Research, Inc.  The role will work closely with our human resources, business development, and executive leadership teams to develop and critique corporate communications.

 The position will report to the CEO & President.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • The Director of Communications will establish protocol for CRI’s corporate communications
  • Oversee internal and external communications
  • Partner with senior leadership to create and deliver transparent information and clear messages, regarding the direction of the company and key investments and initiatives
  • Assess risks, issues, and potential communications problems that are brought forward along with proactive solutions
  • Interface with potential and new customers, and existing client-base
  • Develop and improve relationships with media resources, business partners, community associations, etc.
  • Assist with content creation and proofreading of materials, internal and external memos and marketing materials, strategic communications for all-hands meetings, newsletters, company events, policies, etc.
  • Provide strategic insight to executive leadership and other stakeholders
  • Coordinate activities to proactively prevent and resolve communications issues
  • Develop marketing collateral to improve Company brand and products that will provide CRI a competitive advantage
  • Provide ongoing education and feedback to colleagues on stylistic devices and proofreading points to raise the overall effectiveness of communications between the company and its stakeholders
  • Perform as a company spokesperson
  • Create, present, facilitate informative and illustrative PowerPoint and other presentations
  • Attend leadership meetings, company and marketing events, tradeshows, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned




Skills/Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a related discipline or equivalent relevant training and work experience
  • 7+ years’ experience providing corporate communications support
  • US Citizenship is required
  • Must be able to obtain and retain a 5C suitability clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Communications or a related discipline
  • Federal government contracting experience
  • Desktop Publishing experience
  • Paralegal background
  • Marketing and media relations experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must have ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills needed
  • Proficient with using Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to inspect and review client status reports
  • Receive constructive criticism and process effectively
  • Must be a creative and responsible contributor
  • Social and business media networking skills; Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
