Job Description

Athens Technical College in Athens, Georgia is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant to the Dean of General Education and Online Learning (GEOL). The Administrative Assistant is responsible for performing day-to-day administrative support duties related to the GEOL Division. Responsibilities include Blackboard administration (ATC’s learning management system) including technical support for faculty, staff, and students and provide support for the Center for Teaching & Learning. 

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Serve as Blackboard learning management system (LMS) administrator for Athens Technical College
  • Collaborate with ATC’s information technology department and the registrar’s office regarding the Banner and Blackboard integration
  • Troubleshoot Blackboard and third party LMS problems and communicate solutions
  • Create and run database files for course and user creation, course enrollment, as well as manage course availability
  • Develop and execute workshops for Blackboard and for technology in Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL)
  • Provide large and small group training for Blackboard and for equipment training in CTL
  • Develop print and web-ready training materials for Blackboard and for equipment in CTL
  • Create announcements in Blackboard portal page, update content in e-learning portal page, ensure content is up-to-date in Athens Technical College General Education and Online Learning website
  • Attend TCSG Blackboard meetings in-person and via web conferences
  • Update, maintain, and archive CTL WordPress blog/website, including updating Blackboard training resource page on a regular basis and documenting changesMaintain technology for the CTL, including labeling, ensuring correct inventory and proper functioning of equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills/Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree in a computer/IT, business administrative technology, or closely related field, and three (3) years of related work experience

Note: Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Three (3) years of work experience within the last five (5) years and an Associate's Degree OR one (1) year work experience within the last two (2) years and a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a computer related field.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Word and Excel; learning management system experience (i.e. Blackboard, D2L, Moodle) and technical support experience, and strong customer service skills preferred.
