Job Description

Profile: A hard-working, hands-on manager with strong people skills, attention to detail, and the ability to develop and execute effective strategies to grow the business, increase profitability, and improve efficiency

Main Function:  

The Store Manager is responsible for all aspects of day to day store operations, business development, and personnel management for The Station at Freshfields Village.

 

Position Detail

Maintenance and Daily Operations

• Promoting and resolving customer complaints, in a timely and professional manner
• Implementing and enforcing established daily operating procedures to ensure store is clean, adequately stocked, organized, and well kept
• Ensuring all merchandise is stocked and displays are attractive, priced correctly, and safely displayed
• Maintaining quality brand image standards as pass evaluations
• Working alongside staff during shifts as needed (must be capable of, and willing to, jump in to work registers, expedite deli orders, or otherwise contribute to efficient daily operations)
• Ensuring DHEC Compliance (Monthly checklist completed and recorded)
• Establishing and maintain a positive attitude in The Station team and ensuring excellent guest service every shift

 

Profitability & Financial Management

The Store manager is responsible for the store profits, and all controllable expenses including labor, inventory levels, and cash and inventory shortages. Related duties include, but are not limited to:

• Formulating budget, and providing information to create following year’s budget
• Understanding food cost and cost of sales, keeping each category in line with budget
• Monitoring cash over/short, inventory shrinkage, and drive offs daily
• Implementing Monthly promotions, insuring all POS advertising/signage is properly posted at the proper time
• Preparing bank deposits
• Tracking and recording sales data and compiling reports for accounting department
• Checking closing paperwork and resolving any issues
• Checking in vendors, ensuring proper pricing, downloading deliveries and adding new products

 

HR/Personnel Management

• Establishing and communicating store goals and results to employees
• Conducting store meetings as needed with Station staff
• Motivating, encouraging, and challenging store staff
• Staffing the store and delegating the workload
• Training and developing staff to KP standards
• Supervising and disciplining all store employees (and assistant manager) according to company policy
• Time keeping and processing of vacation and sick time

 

Business Development, Public Relations & Marketing

• Updating Station Facebook page and ensuring web information is accurate and current
• Developing and maintaining effective relationships with vendors and salesmen
• Representing The Station & KP in monthly Freshfields Village community meetings
• Attending KP monthly manager meetings
• Staying current on industry trends, and developing effective strategies to respond to changing market conditions and seasonal challenges

 





Skills/Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following: 

 

• A college degree 
• Proven experience in a similar convenience store environment
• F & B Management experience
• P&L Management experience
• Inventory control shrink management 
• Scheduling & labor cost control
• Proven track record of improving productivity and profit in a similar environment
• Self-motivated and results driven 
• Ability to work long hours
• Ability to lead AND work alongside employees- doing whatever- p/up trash, work on pumps, clean bathrooms
• Ability to relate to and have a good rapport with the customers
