Job Description

Athens Technical College in Athens, Georgia is seeking qualified candidates for the full-time Student Accounts Specialist position.  The Student Accounts Specialist is responsible to the Director of Student Accounts for the accurate processing and maintaining of the student account records of the college utilizing the Banner software system.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Process student disbursements for refunds, HOPE, and other forms of financial aid
  • Prepare correspondence for students with balances
  • Responsible for Petty Cash and Change Fund Box management
  • Place holds and issue letters to students who have not paid their tuition and fees and parking tickets
  • Balance cashier sessions and prepare deposits
  • Research outstanding student checks and disbursements to ensure timely cashing
  • Scan backup check registers and documents onto backup storage unit
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree *and* Three (3) years of experience and demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office software.

Note: Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with Banner Student System.
