Job Description

Position Title: Director of HRIS

Location: Mequon, WI

Reports to: CHRO

Direct Reports: 3

 

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Chief HR Officer, the Director HR Information Systems (HRIS) will provide strategic direction and leadership for the development, implementation and evolution of HR Systems, Reporting and Analytics in alignment with the business strategy. Collaborate with HR and business partners to understand needs in order to offer solutions that leverage systems capability and improve data analytics. Act as an expert advisor to Executive Leadership regarding HR systems and technology.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop a Human Capital Management (HCM) strategy and roadmap that supports the achievement of short and long term strategic business objectives

  • Evolve HR system functionality to enable HR and the business; ensure system maintenance, continuity and linkage with other company systems and technology

  • Lead activities to leverage the use of HR information systems to continuously improve analytics, forecasting, and reporting for the HR function and for the business

  • Lead and serve on both HR and cross-functional business-wide teams intended to establish and monitor the business’s long-term objectives

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management; gain in-depth knowledge of the business to provide insight into the design and implementation of programs

  • Manage multiple corporate initiatives, programs, and projects, and ensure alignment with the overall business and HR strategy; establish metrics to assess the success of these initiatives, programs, and projects

  • Coach, develop, and manage direct team members to build organizational capability and provide opportunities for job enrichment; ensure service excellence is a key priority among all team members; serve as a role model by embodying the characteristics of strong leadership

  • Monitor best practices and industry trends; participate in professional associations as well as informal peer networking

  • Manage/monitor the operational budget and spend for HCM ensuring the efficient use of business resources; make recommendations to improve upon efficiencies and expense management

  • Direct and oversee the continued development, implementation, and evolution of HR Systems Reporting and Analytics in alignment with the business strategy of enabling increased HR value across the business

  • Identify and lead Continuous Improvement efforts related to HR information systems functionality and capability, integration with other company systems and HR processes and procedures to support a high level of performance for the business

  • Partner with HR business leaders to define and supply appropriate data metrics and analytics to drive employee related business decisions

  • Leverage systems and technology (and make recommendations for) as a means to increase efficiency and productivity of the function, as well as simplifying processes and programs for employees

  • Build and manage relationships with third-party providers, auditors, consultants, and administrators





Skills/Requirements

Position Challenges:

  • Exhibit sound judgment and sensitivity to organizational dynamics

  • Provide confident, proactive counsel to senior leaders and be available as needs arise.

  • Maintain strong relations with HR and business leaders to ensure communications practices and messaging are in alignment with the organization needs and strategy

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business or related degree

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in one or a combination of HR Management, Consulting, Technology, Digital Transformation, and Change Management; serving a minimum of three years’ in a supervisory capacity

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in one or more of the following: HR information systems, ERP Systems, HR Analytics and/or Talent/Learning Management Systems

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present at the Board and C-level

  • A respected thought leader on HR technology solutions with the business and within the HR community

  • Proven ability to move between strategy and operations to make recommendations in alignment with current and future business needs

  • Experience developing information technology strategies for client organizations and the ability to become a trusted advisor to Executive Leadership

  • Excellent negotiation skills aimed at forging solid partnerships with vendors

  • Ability to travel approximately 10%



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree, MBA and/or SPHR certification

  • Two plus years’ experience with Workday technical configuration
