This role primarily performs patient care in the outpatient and inpatient settings under the supervision and direction of a full surgical team across multiple 

specialties. The team includes Surgeons, Residents and Interns. The major service line Orthopedics, General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Urology and ENT.

The Surgery Physician Assistant will be a part of this team, which allows its employees the chance to grow, both professionally and personally.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Examining and diagnosing patients' illnesses and injuries

• Providing treatments

• Ordering diagnostic test and medications

• Documentation of all patient activities including, assessments, daily progress notes and post procedure notes

• Assisting surgeons in the surgeons in the Operating Room, including General Surgery, Urological Surgery, Vascular Surgery,

• Plastic Surgery, ENT Surgery and Orthopedic Surgery.
• Practices  within the scope of practice of supervising physicians
• Evaluates treatment and health care plans for effectiveness, and modifies per clinical standards and practice protocols

Requirements:

• Current NYS Physician Assistant License

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program: NCCPA certified

• Update to date with CME  accreditations and requirements

• Complete re-certification exam every six years

• Current BCLS and ACLS Certifications
