Job Description

Athens Technical College in Athens, Georgia seeks an Adjunct Instructor to teach courses in Automotive Collision Repair. The Adjunct Instructor reports to the Automotive Collision Repair Program Chair and is responsible for daily operations, registration, advising, recruitment, retention, job placement, evaluation of student learning outcomes, maintaining records, maintaining safety equipment and procedures and inventory.

The successful applicant will be expected to implement course materials that support stated initiatives and use appropriate techniques to provide students with the knowledge needed to achieve the learning outcomes for each Automotive Collision Repair course offered.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage all aspects of the classroom and laboratory instruction
  • Adhere to all rules, regulations and course syllabi
  • Use appropriate teaching techniques
  • Conduct proper testing and grading activities
  • Demonstrate appropriate knowledge of the subject area
  • Use and maintain records; prepare lesson plans for classroom instruction
  • Develop program and course outlines, goals, and objectives
  • Evaluate students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives
  • Request and maintain supplies and equipment
  • Prepare and maintain required documentation for administrative reports
  • Participate in institutional activities in support of the program
  • Assist in recruiting for the college, maintain knowledge of current trends and attend required meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills/Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Diploma  in automotive collision repair or related discipline from an accredited private or public post-secondary institution with at least two (2) years field experience within the last ten (10) years

Preferred Qualifications

Two (2) years prior teaching experience at the post-secondary level; I-CAR training and/ or ASE Automotive Collision Repair Certification
