Job Description

Athens Technical College in Athens, Georgia seeks an Adjunct Instructor to teach Anatomy and Physiology on its Elbert County Campus in Elberton, GA.  This course focuses on the normal structure and function of the human body and provides an overview of each body system, how the systems coordinate activities to maintain a balanced state, and how these systems recognize deviations from the normal.  Specific topics include general plan and function of the human body, integumentary system, skeletal system, muscular system, nervous and sensory systems, endocrine system, cardiovascular system, lymphatic system, respiratory system, digestive system, urinary system, and reproductive system. Laboratory exercises support lecture concepts. 

The successful applicant will be expected to implement course materials that support stated initiatives and use appropriate techniques to provide students with the knowledge needed to achieve the learning outcomes for this course

Skills/Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in anatomy and physiology or a master’s degree in a related field with 18 graduate semester hours or be an advanced healthcare provider (such as nurse practitioner or physician’s assistant).

Preferred Qualifications

Two (2)years prior teaching experience at the post-secondary level; the ability to make presentations uses advanced media technology, such as distance learning and online learning applications.
