Job Description

Under the direction of  both Front Desk Supervisors and Front Office management. 
Responsible for providing excellent customer service throughout ours guests' stay by exceeding their expectations.Performs all duties in regard to operation of the front desk.  

Position Functions / Areas of Responsibility

  • Provides a friendly greeting to guests as they arrive.
  • Checks in guests in an efficient and courteous manner.
  • Checks guests out and ascertains guest satisfaction and prensets bill to guests.
  • Handles all guests interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible.
  • Answering telephones, receiving guest requests and coordinating with the correct department to ensure that guests’ need are taken care of.
  • Booking reservations for lodging at the resort.
  • Giving directions and offering general knowledge of Snowbird.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, multitask and maintain attention to detail while providing exceptional customer service. 
  • Coordinating accounting and billing needs with other departments.
  • Utilizes a variety of computer systems such as SMSHOST, WORD, EXCEL.
  • Maintains a balanced bank assigned by the Hotel. Makes change, processes credit card payments, etc.

Interactions

  •  Direct and continuous contact with guests.
  •  Direct and continuous with co-workers, management, and other departments.
  •  Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at Snowbird.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 0- 6 months of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence. 

Specific Requirements

  •  Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • General computer knowledge, typing skills, or other specialized training.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Demonstrate basic competence in reading, writing, speaking, simple arithmetic, advanced communication skills, and interpersonal relationships.

Administrative

  • Requires problem solving and initiation of less clearly defined job activities.  Makes relatively complex decisions regarding resolution of customer complaints.  Decisions are made within broad procedural guidelines.  Discretionary judgment must be used to interpret a billing problem and chose a solution satisfactory to all involved.

Work Schedule

  • Shifts vary, may be early morning or late evening, weekends, holidays, depending on business levels. Specific Shifts: 7am to 3pm or 3pm to 11pm.

Working Conditions

Mental

  • Must be prepared to stay overnight if necessary on occasional times of road closures.
  • May experience unusual stress from continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to/from Snowbird.

Physical

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • General office environment with limited physical activity.
  • Work is subject to frequent interruptions making continuity and accuracy difficult, frequent exposure to noise.
  • Other/Additional:  Frequently deals with difficult guests with difficult problems, with the help of management and supervisors, to find solutions satisfactory to all involved which can cause additional levels of stress.
