POSITION OVERVIEW
Recognizing that Out of School Time programs are critical to a child's academic success in school, College Bound Dorchester provides students with a range of activities including writing, visual and performing arts, science exploration, physical education and field trips. During the summer months, the afterschool program transitions to a full day camp style program combining academic experiences with enrichment activities on site and within the community. Our summer program serves students ages 6 to 13 years between the hours of 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. The group leader position will work with the individual children and groups as designated by program needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
? Plan lessons and activities;
? Set up and prepare daily activities;
? Attend bi-weekly staff meetings;
? Collaborate and support as a team member;
? Mentor individual youth and monitor their participation;
? Follow all DEEC group leader practices;
? Administer and keep records related to the program;
? Track and update all efforts and student progress using Efforts To Outcomes software, as well as maintaining all other required records;
? Participate in assigned trainings
? Adhere to all protocols and norms for communication and professional conduct, e.g. Email and Phone Communication Protocol, Communication Norms;
? Fulfill all outlined and related functions in a professional, timely, and thorough manner;
? Complete other duties related to this position as assigned by your direct supervisor.
