The Systems Engineer will provide daily desktop, printer and peripheral support as needed to users in community hospital environment, including support for handheld and wireless client deployments, as well as network user administration tasks for a variety of IT systems. This person will also utilize our in-house service desk ticketing system to track all work and will strive to provide outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities include but are not limited:
Support will include troubleshooting, repair, and installation of hardware, software, and operating systems for Windows XP and Windows 7
Preferred candidate should have a focus on customer service, exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills, and a proven strong work ethic both in a team environment and individually
Provide support of client computing hardware, including but not limited to hard drive, memory, and peripheral connections
Provide support for mobile devices, including Android and iPhone
Setup and configure workstations to be used in diverse environments, adhering to security requirements and organizational requirements
Support and troubleshoot wired, wireless, and VPN connectivity for desktops, laptops, and mobile devices
Provide assistance to clients for general operation of standard supported software
Consult with clients and team members to provide hardware and software recommendations
Work within help desk ticketing system, documenting all work performed and communication with clients
Prepare equipment for surplus including secure removal of data
Deliver reports to supervisor
Skills/Requirements
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in microcomputer hardware / software support, and end-user support and training.
Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
Bachelors’ Degree in Information Technology is preferred
Full working knowledge of Windows XP/7/10 in an Active Directory enterprise environment
Working knowledge of hardware troubleshooting, installation, and configuration on PC platforms
Must be oriented toward customer service with the ability to support clients in person, over the phone, through email and utilizing remote tools
Desire to work in a team environment.
Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to travel to different sites occasionally as necessary.
Works well with staff in the support of required modification, enhancements, updates and new releases.
