St. John's Episcopal Hospital is recruiting for a Medical Technologist. The candidate will performs professional duties under the direction of the Laboratory Manager. The Medical Technologist performs qualitative and quantitative analysis on all specimens received in the laboratory for the station assigned.

Position: Medical Technologist

Status: Part Time /30 hours biweekly

Local 1199 status

Requirements/Qualifications:

Bachelors in Science

Minimum of 2 years experience in a Clinical Laboratory is preferred

Valid N.Y. S. Clinical Laboratory Technologist License required

Duties include, but not limited to:

Performs the maintenance on instruments at the prescribed times and documents the facts in the appropriate logbook or the LIS.

Documents all trouble-shooting done on the instrument in the appropriate place

Runs specimens off-line when instructed to, and performs testing on the stat specimen and reports results within the established time

Performs other related tasks as assigned
