Responsible in general for the uninterrupted performance of all equipment in the plant.
Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on the plants gas fired, electrical, and hydraulic equipment. Assist with repairs to mechanical equipment.
Observe plant operation and issue maintenance orders for items that have become unreliable or need improvement completing paperwork in a neat and timely manner.
Assist other trades, such as plumbers and millwrights to perform their assigned tasks.
When directed by U.S Pipe supervisors perform other duties as directed.
Works safely. Stays drug free. Follows safety procedures, including lockout/tagout. Assists in safety related activities and participates in safety meetings.
Answers trouble calls using blueprints, schematics and PLC ladder logic to rapidly troubleshoot and repair plant equipment. Can repair equipment without blueprints or schematics when they do not exists. Improvises repairs when exact replacement parts are not available.
Analyze PLC ladder logic to determine how a machine should work and why it does not work. Make on-line changes to PLC to keep a machine working or to improve its performance.
Works as a team lead, providing technical training and leadership to other team members. Working under pressure, and prioritizing competing work requests.
Operates lift trucks, manlifts, and other mobile equipment used to repair or adjustments to equipment.
Completes any records any statistical data electronically or manually.
Keeps work area clean, safe and orderly condition, performs all work to NEC code, and in accordance with plant and departmental rules. Cleans up after job is completed.
Three years experience as an Electrician working in a manufacturing environment. As degree Electrical technician desired. High School diploma/GED required.
